Bluegrass Album Band in Sevierville – May 2013

Event Details

babIn addition to a reunion show next February at Bluegrass First Class in Asheville, NC, the original members of the fabled Bluegrass Album Band are set to reassemble again in May during the Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass festival in Sevierville, TN. These shows coincide with a celebration of the 30th anniversary of this all-star outfit’s only tour back in 1983.

On stage for this set will be Tony Rice, J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson, Bobby Hicks and Todd Phillips, with American Drive guitarist Rickey Wasson handling the lead vocals in Rice’s stead.

Bloomin’ Bluegrass & BBQ is a free, two-day event including both live music and the Tennessee state BBQ championship, running May 17-18, 2013. The Album Band show is set for the 18th.

UPDATE 8:40 p.m. – We heard from Phil Leadbetter this afternoon, and he is also scheduled to be a part of the Bluegrass Album Band on resonator guitar.
