Following on the success of her book on songwriting, bluegrass and Gospel singer and songwriter Donna Ulisse has released an audio CD companion.
The Songwriter In Me: Snapshots of My Creative Process was released in the summer of 2014, and has enjoyed both critical and commercial success. It includes descriptions of the work style that has brought her multiple songwriting awards, using many snippets of lyrics from her own songs.
After a raft of consumer requests, the book was issued last week in an ebook format for Kindles, iBooks,and Nooks, or as a PDF file.
Now she is releasing a CD with work tapes of the 24 compositions featured in the book. Most feature simple acoustic guitar backing and vocals from either Donna or her husband/producer Rick Stanley. These include initial recordings of several of her biggest hits (Let it Rain, Showin’ My Roots, I Am A Child of God), plus plenty more yet to make it to disc.
Donna thinks that both fans and aspiring songwriters will enjoy hearing these demo tracks on The Songwriter In Me – The Demo Recordings. It is available for sale now at popular online download sites, and at CD Baby.
Tracks will be offered to radio programmers through Airplay Direct starting on April 15.
