Steve and the Rangers – Me And Paul Revere

A few weeks back, we reported that Steve Martin and Steep Canyon Rangers would be performing on the July 4 celebration at the US Capitol in Washinton, DC. In that report, Graham Sharp of the Rangers mentioned a new song Steve had written for the occasion.

That song, Me And Paul Revere, has now been released as a single. It tells the story of that fateful ride from the perspective of Revere’s horse, identified here as Brown Beauty. She tells the tale from when Revere chooses her in the stable, through the ride to wake and warn Sam Adams of the approaching British army. The story ends when Revere is captured by the British, warns them that the colonists are armed and ready, and is then released – with Brown Beauty remaining behind in their custody.

It’s a terrific song, perfect for the July 4 celebration, and brilliantly performed by Steve and the Rangers who have made it available for online listening via YouTube.

The song is set for release tomorrow (June 28), and will be available from iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic, and Amazon.
