Jubilation Day video from Steve and the Rangers

A music video has been released on CMT for the song Jubilation Day from Rare Bird Alert, the recent CD from Steve Martin and Steep Canyon Rangers.

It’s a clever take on the song, using animation similar to the cover drawing with the various band members’ heads supplanted onto the heads of various bird characters.

As Rangers banjo man Graham Sharp said in an email a few minutes ago,”pretty silly stuff.”

Graham also mentioned that they have a special show planned for July 4 – an appearance on the Capitol west lawn in Washington,DC. He said that Martin has written a song for the occasion, Me & Paul Revere, which Sharp describes as “a great patriotic song written from the point of view of Paul Revere’s horse.” They have been using this song as the closing number of their ongoing tour.

The 4th of July concert will be broadcast on PBS, NPR and Armed Forces Radio.
