New Cordle CD this week

Larry Cordle’s new CD, Pud Marcum’s Hangin’, was also released this week.

It’s his first record since 2007, including a collection of songs he has written or co-written. Most of them are ones that he put together since his last album, though a few go back quite a few years.

Larry was live on WSM last Friday with Bill Cody and Charlie Mattos. He shared a couple of songs from Pud Marcum’s Hangin’, and talked by the guys about the songs and songwriting in general.

Here’s video from that interview/performance. There is more on YouTube.

Those in Nashville can join Cord tonight (3/17) at the Station Inn for a CD release party. During the show they will be raffling off gift bags with copies of the new album, along with past projects and WSM merchandise, with all proceeds going to Cumberland Heights, a non-profit drug and alcohol treatment center.

Larry says that several musicians he knows have benefited from treatment at Cumberland Heights, and in keeping with the theme of the song above (Sometimes A Man Takes A Drink), he wanted to bring some attention to the center and the great work they do.
