As we have mentioned before, the band is celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2012 by releasing a trio of short-form albums throughout the year, each featuring reworked versions of their classic recordings. The first, Chronology, Volume I, hit in February, and the guys are working now in the studio on Volume 2.
Sammy Shelor tells me they had a heck of a time narrowing down the output of their second decade to just 7 songs, and have decided to ask their many fans around the world to lend a hand in advance for Volume 3. A poll is posted on the LRB web site where you can vote on your top 5 songs from their most recent decade.
In addition to making a mark on the final part of this project, everyone who participates in the poll will be entered to win prizes to be given out next month. The deadline to vote in the poll in June 1.
