Grascals video for I Am Strong

The first video from The Grascals’ upcoming CD, The Grascals & Friends has been released.

The video for I Am Strong was shot on site at the St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, with Dolly Parton as their special guest. I Am Strong is a special song for the band, co-written by guitarist/vocalist Jamie Johnson. It was inspired by a visit The Grascals made to St. Jude’s, and the bravery and stoicism of the children they met there.

A share of the proceeds from the new record, exclusively available through Cracker Barrel starting January 10, will be donated to St. Jude’s.

Jamie wrote “I Am Strong” with his wife, Susanne Mumpower-Johnson (co-writer with Kim Fox of 3 Fox Drive’s “This Little House Of Mine,” among others), and with Jenee Fleenor, one-time fiddler and singer with Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time, occasional Mashville Brigadier and Martina McBride fiddler Jenee Fleenor, who has a brand new EP of her own just coming out. Good folks, good song, good video.
