Two programs from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville are slated to begin broadcasting on the RFD-TV network starting next month.
Opry Live, which features segments from the Grand Ole Opry’s weekly stage shows, will start on Saturday, May 9 at 9:00 p.m. EDT. A new episode will air each week at that time. These will feature highlights from previous Opry programs.
Circle Sessions, a program with interviews and behind-the-scenes looks at members at the Opry, begins on Friday, May 8 at 9:30 p.m. EDT. Episodes of both shows will remain available for streaming on RFD+ for one week after each episode airs.
RFD-TV is a family-owned, multi-platform media company with a reach of more than 50 million people through television, streaming, digital, and audio. It was created to provide content of interest to rural households, including programming on agriculture, food, music, work, and rural community life.
Raquel Gottsch Koehler, co-owner and Chief Marketing and Creative Officer of RFD-TV, says that Opry programming is a perfect fit for their audience.
“Our audience has always had a deep connection to country music and the stories behind it. Bringing Opry Live and Circle Sessions to RFD-TV gives viewers direct access to one of the most important stages in music, in a way that feels authentic to both the artists and the audience.”
CEO of Opry Entertainment Group, Patrick Moore, agrees, saying…
“In its 100th year, we are focused on making the Opry experience more accessible than ever before by reaching audiences across the country and far beyond our stage. The Opry has always connected with fans across platforms on radio, television, streaming, and beyond. Expanding these series to RFD-TV allows us to connect with a passionate and engaged audience that values country music’s history, artistry, and future.”
A large number of cable and satellite television providers offer RFD-TV to subscribers, and viewers can access the streaming-only option, RFD-TV+, online or with an app.
