Traveling this past weekend, I spent almost 8 hours on the road. Much of it was taken up in careful, repeated listening to Paper Airplane, the upcoming project from Alison Krauss & Union Station. You won’t be shocked to learn that it is an exquisite recording, bordering on perfection, about which we’ll have much more to say before its April 12 release.
Rounder Records has today announced an iTunes pre-order special, which will entitle you to not only an immediate download of the title track, but a bonus track not included on the CD as well.
The extra song is These Days, written by Angel Snow and Viktor Krauss, who also wrote Lie Awake, a somewhat ethereal number included on Paper Airplane. Pre-orderers won’t have access to any of the audio (save the title track) until the release date, and only those who place an iTunes order before 4/12 will get the bonus song.
