Every Time I Walk This Road

Thomas Wywrot - Every Time I Walk This RoadWe first mentioned Thomas Wywrot’s superb new CD, Every Time I Walk This Road, back in November of last year. At that time, the CD had just been completed and Thomas shared a few thoughts about the songs – and a number of audio samples – on Bluegrass Today.

Thomas is an extremely talented musician, currently playing banjo and guitar with The Isaacs, and he surrounds himself with stellar pickers on the new CD.  He plays both on this recording, with Jim VanCleve on fiddle, Randy Kohrs on resonator guitar, Jason Chapman and Alan Bartram on bass, and Jeremy Chapman and Ashby Frank on mandolin. Daniel Salyer, who has just joined up with Barry Scott & Second Wind, sings most of the leads.

The album was officially released on January 15 with audio samples from all 11 tracks (and online orders) enabled on Wywrot’s web site and in iTunes. You’ll hear both crackerjack instrumentals and soulful singing with a genuine band sound. All the tracks were recorded at Wywrot’s own Right Good Studio.

Thomas is also a clever and funny guy. Check out this YouTube photo travelogue of his recent New York City visit over New Years, set to his banjo remix of Miley Cyrus’ Party In The USA.

Every Time I Walk This Road is available for download by radio programmers at Airplay Direct. Great stuff.
