<br /> The Del McCoury Band recently released their newest CD The Company We Keep and it’s already on the charts. I won’t link to Billboard because you have to be a subscriber to view their charts online. But I was reading this article at CMT.com and found the news.
The Del McCoury Band debut at No. 59 on the country albums list with The Company We Keep but land at No. 2 on Billboard’s bluegrass chart — just behind Alison Krauss & Union Station’s Lonely Runs Both Ways.
For those of you wondering what kind of material the band put on this CD, here’s what Del had to say about it.
“This is the most personal album I”?ve ever done,” McCoury says. “It”?s an album of really hardcore bluegrass songs.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m willing to trust Del to know what a “hardcore bluegrass song” is supposed to sound like. Here’s one more Del quote to end with.
“I just love to sing,” he says. “Man, this music just really tells it like it is, and I like that.”
