Carrying The Good News - Kevin Pace & the Early Edition

From the Pacific Northwest comes a new bluegrass band, Kevin Pace & the Early Edition, determined to spread traditional bluegrass in Washington state and beyond.

Pace is a Georgia native, whose family performed as part of The Pace Trio, a Gospel group that worked the southeast in the 1950s and ’60s. He is developing a reputation as a fine singer and songwriter. Since moving west, Kevin has been continuing his life-long passion for performing by forming the Early Edition in 2010.

Christopher Arndt is on banjo, his younger brother  Matthew Arndt on fiddle, Josh Robertson on guitar, Jim Adams on bass, with Pace on mandolin and lead vocals.

Their debut CD, Carrying the Good News, has been released, which despite the title, is an album of secular music consisting of popular titles from the bluegrass canon.

There are no audio samples on the band’s web site, but they have posted a number of live video performances that feature material from the CD. They nicely capture the old school vibe that Pace and the boys project.
