Chris Jones & the Night Drivers in Kalamazoo

Event Details

Bluegrass Today columnist and SiriusXM DJ Chris Jones brought the Night Drivers to the First Congregational Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association (GLAMA) concert. The concert was held in the church’s chapel. It is an intimate setting for an enjoyable experience.

Chris has a solid connection to Kalamazoo because it is his mother’s home town. Mandolinist Mark Stoffel also has a Kalamazoo connection. He brought his 1917 Gibson A model mandolin to the place where it was built, and played it on several tunes throughout the evening.

Jon Weisberger on bass is now the senior member of the Night Drivers, and Gina Clowes on banjo is the newest member of the band. They played to an enthusiastic audience.

Jon Moody from GHS Strings was in the audience. He provided a couple dozen sets of strings for the band to give away. GHS provides strings for the Night Drivers and many other artists.
