Cherryholmes hit the radio this week

Cherryholmes is taking the music from Cherryholmes IV Common Threads, their upcoming CD, to the radio airwaves this week, in advance of its June 1 release on Skaggs Family Records. They will be on tonight’s Tuesday Opry (4/27), and on Thursday’s (4/29) edition of Blue Plate Special on WDVX.

Tonight’s Grand Ole Opry broadcast airs from 8:00-9:15 p.m. (EDT) and Cherryholmes will be on during the 8:30 segment. Also appearing will be Riders In The Sky and The Whites along with Jewell and Bill Anderson.

As always, it airs live on WSM 650 AM, on Sirius 62 and XM 10, and via online streaming from wsmonline.com.

You can expect to hear the first single from Cherryholmes IV, Live It, sung by the youngest of the clan, Molly Cherryholmes. Audio for the song – and a video of the band tracking it in the studio – can be found in an earlier post on Bluegrass Today.

On Thursday, Cherryholmes will be in the Knoxville area for a show at Maryville College, and they will stop in at WDVX for Blue Plate Special at noon. The show goes out live from The Knoxville Visitors Center and can be heard over the air at 102.9 FM, and online at wdvx.com.

Acoustic trio Red Molly will also perform on Thursday’s show.
