Bryan Sutton at MTSU

Event Details

The Center for Popular Music at Middle Tennessee State University hosted Bryan Sutton for a workshop on March 16, as part of their American Guitar series. Fortunately for those of us who couldn’t attend, the Center has preserved the experience on a pair of roughly 30 minute videos.

The discussion was led by Center Director Dr. Greg Reish. It’s a great opportunity to get to know Sutton, his background, and his approach to traditional bluegrass and old time music. For guitarists, it’s appointment viewing.

The Center For Popular Music is a repository for all things related to American vernacular music, located at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. Among the more than one million artifacts stored on site are 200,000 sound recordings in every imaginable medium.
