Bradley Walker seeking kidney donor

Event Details

Bradley Walker

Celebrated bluegrass, country, and gospel singer Bradley Walker has always been open about the disability that has kept him from being among the most successful vocalists of his age.

A truly gifted artist with a voice that can’t be contained in a single genre, Bradley was born with muscular dystrophy, which has him restricted to a wheelchair. But since it is a non-progressive form of the ailment, he won’t get worse over time, allowing him to perform a limited schedule of shows.

Walker has, however, been diagnosed recently with Polycystic Kidney Disease, and is now waitlisted for a transplant at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. As anyone who has gone through this process knows, it can be a long wait to find a donor, though that time can be greatly shortened by finding a living donor willing to contribute a kidney. Humans can live an active, normal life with only a single kidney, and it can be a gift of life for one enduring serious kidney disease.

Bradley has been undergoing at-home peritoneal dialysis for several months now, and while not asking that anyone donate a kidney, he has shared that anyone inspired to consider doing so can contact Erlanger Hospital to discuss the possibility.

Of course any potential donor must be a match with Walker, and those tests can be done before discussions about scheduling a donation begin.

Anyone so called to consider such a gift can contact Rachel Randolph at (423) 778-6675.

Good luck, and get well soon Bradley!
