Bourgeois auction raises $10K for Tony Rice

auctionBourgeois has announced the successful completion of their Tony Rice tribute guitar auction, where $10,000 was raised to benefit Tony. They had built a custom instrument as an homage to Tony’s classic D-28, the Clarence White guitar, and offered it for sale at auction earlier this month.

Rice fans know that his arthritis has reached a point where he is unable to play guitar reliably, an unkind illness that has robbed him of the way he earns his living. Fans and friends all over the world have been making contributions to his support, and with this $10,000 check from Bourgeois, the total raised is well over $80,000.

The successful bidder was Ray Gargiulo from Massapequa, NY. Congratulations, Ray, and a tip of the cap to Dana Bourgeois and all the folks who helped organize and implement this campaign.
