Bluegrass Today Top 30 for 2013

Bluegrass Today Top 30 for 2013We’re all seeing year end lists of every sort this week. We have a few of our own. Maybe at the end of 2014 we can publish a Top 10 list of Top 10 lists.

Most of these represent the subjective reflections of the various authors, and lots of people enjoy reading them, myself included.

The primary reason we created our Bluegrass Today Airplay Chart was to offer an objective ranking for radio play, collated from the actual playlists of more than 100 bluegrass radio programmers.

Traditional Bluegrass…350 yards down the middle of the fairway. NO “Big Tent”. Happy New Year!!!

  • Jon Weisberger

Interesting to see how many songs are either old country songs or newer songs by writers known mainly for Music Row writing – and that’s not even counting Miss Dixie and Tom T.! 😉

  • Lynwood Lunsford

Big Country Bluegrass would like to thank all the listeners and the DJs that made it possible for our song, “Putting on My Leaving Shoes” to make the Top 30 list!! We wish all of you a Happy New Year and look forward to the opportunity to meet and greet with many of you in 2014!

It’s an interesting perspective to see how different this list is from other true bluegrass 2013 lists.

It might be nice to see all these various list “compiled” in some way, once they’re all out. Kind of a “50,000 foot view” of the bluegrass world, from everyone’s view.
