Bluegrass Hits: Twenty Timeless Favorites from Yesterday and Today

Rounder Records has a new bluegrass compilation CD out today featuring cuts from previous Rounder releases, including selections from Alison Krauss & Union Station, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Rhonda Vincent, Blue Highway, Tony Rice, JD Crowe & The New South and Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, among others. Entitled Bluegrass Hits: Twenty Timeless Favorites from Yesterday and Today, this new release seems poised to offer a concise “bluegrass overview” with holiday giving in mind – and it should be an excellent candidate for just such a gift idea.

Rounder says that they selected the tracks for this compilation as “hits” based on their success on bluegrass radio, and includes a number of very popular songs, like current IBMA Song Of The Year, Me and John and Paul, from The Grascals and Still Climbing Mountains, from Blue Highway.

A complete track listing is available on the Rounder web site.
