Big doin’s at Mountain Fever

I had the occasion on Sunday to spend some time at Mountain Fever Studios in Willis, VA.

Delta Reign was up from Alabama recording their first project for the Mountain Fever label, and I enjoyed hearing more of their quirky blend of bluegrass and swing as they were mixing and fixing the last few things before heading home this week.

Mark Hodges of Mountain Fever said to expect a single from this as-yet unnamed project within a few weeks. Tasty stuff.

He also shared a few details about upcoming projects on the label.

“Kevin Richardson & Cutting Edge (formerly with Larry Stephenson) will be our next release, and No One You Know is coming in at the end of the month to cut their next record. Both Edgar Loudermilk and Volume Five are working on finishing up recordings for us, as well as Angie Young and Jett’s Creek (being produced by Clay Hess).

We’ll probably release somewhere between 8 and 10 more records this year.”

Keep track of Mountain Fever projects on the label’s web site.
