The old time music father/son duo of Ken & Brad Kolodner have released a new single, the title track of their upcoming album, Hand’s Cove.

The Kolodners wrote this tune, inspired by a family cabin in Vermont located on a secluded cove on Lake Champlain, where they have spent many vacations over the years. Hand’s Cove is also known for being the spot where Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold gathered their troops, The Green Mountain Boys, ahead of the crossing of Lake Champlain to attack and capture the British position at Fort Ticonderoga in 1775.

Ken plays the hammered dulcimer and Brad clawhammer gourd banjo, and they are supported on this instrumental adventure by Rachel Eddy on guitar and Alex Lacquement on bass. The track nicely details how driving and percussive these instruments can be in contemporary music.

Check it out.

Hand’s Cove, the single, is available now from popular download and streaming services online. The full album is set for a July 10 release with Fenchurch Music.
