Here’s this week’s update and report on the ongoing Awards Poll.
Last week just over 10% of the registered users had voted in the poll. This week the number of voters has increased to 16%. During this week new registrations here on the blog outpaced votes 2 to 1.
Entertainer of the Year – Last week Doyle Lawson had a strong lead in the category over Cherryholmes. He maintains the lead, but has lost the margin. Now Doyle is only up 4%.
Instrumental Group of the Year – This week Mountain Heart has taken a slim lead of 4 points over Blue Highway.
Emerging Artist of the Year – This was a dead even tie last week. Now Blue Moon Rising has taken a 1 point lead over Steep Canyon Rangers.
Recorded Event of the Year – This category now see’s Bryan Sutton’s Not To Far From The Tree leading Daughters of Bluegrass – Back To The Well by 1%.
Banjo Player of the Year – Terry Baucom holds a 3 point lead over Jim Mills at this point.
Bass Player of the Year – Last week this was a tight category, but now Barry Bales has pulled firmly into the lead.
Guitar Player of the Year – Bryan Sutton has now established a 5 point lead in this category.
