LRB and the Smiths on WDVX

Event Details

Two big bluegrass shows are scheduled for the next two days on Blue Plate Special, WDVX’s live performance program out of Knoxville, TN. Lonesome River Band will be featured on today’s (12/2) edition of the show, with Kenny & Amanda Smith set for Saturday.

Both have something to crow about these days. LRB is about to celebrate 30 years as a working band in 2012, and leader Sammy Shelor is still basking in the glow of his 2011 Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass Music. The Smiths have a brand new group in tow, and may slip in some new material they are working up for their next album, set for next year.

Blue Plate Special airs at noon (EST), and can be heard over the air at 102.9 FM, or online worldwide at www.wdvx.com.
