Merry Christmas from Andy Falco

Event Details

We have recently discovered, or have been sent, a good many pieces of Christmas music from bluegrass artists. Many are in video form, and we will highlight them over this next few weeks.

Some are grassy versions of familiar holiday songs, others new additions, while others still find these pickers and singers stepping out of their bluegrass role to tackle music from beyond our stylistic borders.

Just such is this video from Andy Falco, fearless flatpicker with The Infamous Stringdusters, who created an arrangement of J.S. Bach’s timeless classic, Jesú, Joy Of Man’s Desiring for nylon string guitar. Andy wanted us to mention his disclaimer that he is no kind of classical guitarist, and that he means no disrespect to the discipline by employing a plectrum. He just likes the sound.

Well done, Andy.
