Saturday at Dailey and Vincent Land Fest opened with a band contest. The winner, Salt & Lite, played a full set as one of their prizes. They are a band of brothers and sisters from North Carolina. The youngest on stage was 9 and the oldest 20.
America’s Got Talent semi-finalist Mountain Faith played to an excited home-state audience. Mountain Faith announced that they will be going to the Persian Gulf in November to entertain our troops. That brought a standing ovation. The Cleverlys delivered a show that only they can. Many in the crowd had not seen their show making the set just that much more fun.
Jamie and Darrin hosted a jam session after the supper break. Anyone who wanted to play and sing with them was invited to the stage. The youngest jammer was 5 years old. The oldest – well, he wasn’t 5 years old. The Grascals were up next with their traditional sound. Dailey and Vincent then did their final show of the weekend.
The Denton Farm Park pavilion was pretty well packed. The legendary Gatlin Brothers closed the show with the special flair that only they can bring to the stage. Larry Gatlin regaled the audience with Roger Miller and Johnny Cash stories. The show closed with the Gatlin Brothers, Jamie Dailey, Darrin Vincent, and Aaron McCune signing an acapella version of Amazing Grace.
