Dobro wizard Rob Ickes has not one, not two, but three new instructional videos offered for sale from his web site. Each covers a specific aspect of his award-winning style, and is offered for $25.
Volume 1 is titled Slower Tempo Songs and Backing Up a Vocalist. In it Rob teaches these techniques for three popular songs, Wayfaring Stranger, Wait a Minute, and The Old Rugged Cross.
The next volume covers playing fiddle tunes on the reso-guitar. Monrobro, Fiddle Tunes and Uptempo Songs finds Ickes demonstrating seven common jam tunes, including his own Monrobro plus Arkansas Traveler, St. Anne’s Reel, Whiskey Before Breakfast, Blackberry Blossom, Cherokee Shuffle, and Long Journey Home.
Volume 3 is Mastering the Fretboard, Scales, Arpeggios & More, where Rob walks the student through major, minor and dominant 7th scales, and explains triads and pentatonic and diminished scales.
