Flatt Lonesome delivers check to St Jude

Charli Robertson, Dr. Suzanne Baker, Kelsi Harrigill, Darrel Adkins, Phyllis Adkins, Paul Harrigill, and Michael Stockton at St Jude Children's Research HospitalEarlier this week several members of Flatt Lonesome made a trip to Memphis, TN to visit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and to deliver a check representing the proceeds from the band’s first ever live online concert event.

The band put on an online show though Concert Window on January 28, cybercast from Beans N’ Cream Coffeehouse in Cedarville, OH. Billed as Country Covers, they performed a set of popular country songs done bluegrass style, put together as a benefit for the annual Musicians Against Childhood Cancer festival.

They raised more than $2500 through the concert, and delivered a check on Monday to Dr. Suzanne Baker at St. Jude to aid in their research.

Also present were Darrell and Phylis Adkins, who run the MACC festival each July in Ohio. The pair of bluegrass enthusiasts lost a young daughter to cancer and hold their 4-day outdoor event in an effort to assist St Jude in seeking a cure. Top bluegrass acts appear for a reduced fee to do their part for the cause.

Members of Flatt Lonesome also received a tour of the facilities at the hospital.
