Turnberry Records is proud to release their first single with The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, newly signed to the label.
Pardon Me is a classic love lost song, written by David Stewart and Mark “Brink” Brinkman. Its lyrics sound a country ballad, but the Boys give it a solid traditional bluegrass reading.
Mandolinist and bandleader C.J. Lewandowski, who sings the lead, says that he liked this one right away.
“From the moment I heard Pardon Me, it felt like the right fit for The Po’ Ramblin’ sound. David Stewart and Brink Brinkman have come together to tell an often-sung story, but with a new twist and simplicity.
I’m confident the addictive melody will have folks singing right along with us just as it did for me when I heard the demo for the first time on the trip back with Keith Barnacastle from Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music.
I’m no meteorologist, but ‘the atmosphere is just right for a heartache.'”
Lewandowski kicks this one off on mandolin, with support from bandmates Jereme Brown on banjo, Jasper Lorentzen on bass, Max Silverstein on fiddle, and John Gooding on guitar. Brown and Gooding add harmony vocals.
If you know The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, you know what to expect here. Check it out.
Pardon Me is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via Get It Played.
