The Bluegrass Heritage Foundation has announced that their popular Bluegrass Saturday Night concert series in McKinney, TX (just outside of Dallas/Fort Worth) is on pause for this season as the city is doing a major renovation at the McKinney Performing Arts Center where the shows have been held.
Over the past nine years the Foundation has brought top touring bluegrass acts to perform in the theater, a converted former courthouse, which McKinney is now bringing up to contemporary standards.
As the Center’s web site shares…
The McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC) is undergoing an exciting renovation that honors the past while preparing the historic courthouse theater for the future. This renovation is designed to preserve the building’s architectural integrity while introducing modern amenities and safety upgrades, approved by the Texas Historical Commission.
This long-term investment will restore many original architectural details while introducing modern updates to elevate the overall guest experience.
When complete, MPAC will continue to serve as a cherished cultural landmark.
New features being implemented include an expanded stage, lush red stage curtains, and more elegant finishes throughout. Most welcome will be additional leg room for balcony seats.
Plans are already afoot for the 2027 return of Bluegrass Saturday Night in McKinney, and the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation thanks everyone for their patience.
