War Against Silence with the Bankesters

Event Details

The Bankester girls: Emily, Alysha, and MelissaCorey Smith, guitarist with modern grassers, Ash Breeze, has launched a promising new YouTube channel he calls War Against Silence. The concept is to create music videos that pair promising young vocalists with music that is more widely popular as a tool to increase music lovers’ exposure to them and their art.

Because his background is in bluegrass, Corey’s choices for features have so far come from artists pretty close to the world of grass. And they have all been female. (Not a bad way to meet talented young ladies!) He’s off to a great start.

With a background in film production already – he produced the two Generation Bluegrass projects – Smith seems a natural for this project. He’s also a talented guitarist and audio engineer, so these productions can be home made in the truest sense of the word.

The latest from War Against Silence features the three lovely Bankester girls with an acoustic arrangement of Bruno Mars’ Count On Me. Corey got the girls over one evening, tracked the song in his room, and shot the video out behind the house. All in about 5 hours.

If you enjoy Smith’s work, check out the other videos on YouTube. And share them around social media so more folks can enjoy them as well.
