Tony Rice is offering his personal, 2007 Santa Cruz Tony Rice model guitar for sale. This is a custom instrument, built specifically to Tony’s specs, and which he used on the road through much of 2007 and 2008.

The guitar is being sold through Steve Swan Guitars, which has a detailed description of the guitar online, along with a number of close up photos.

CUSTOM FEATURES include: Nickel Waverly round metal button tuners, Exra dense flame figure Honduras Mahogany neck, Long fixed position bone bridge saddle, Varnish finish on top, Hide glue, and a special 25 1/8″ string scale.

STANDARD FEATURES include: Brazilian Rosewood (in this case dark tight grain reddish-orange fully vertical grain sides and nearly fully vertical grain back), Beautiful even grain Master Grade European Spruce top, 4 9/16″ string spread, Bound Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay, Bone nut, 1 11/16″ nut width, Bound ebony fingerboard with small “SCGC” logo at the 15th fret, Ivoroid binding with side purfling, Herringbone top purfling and rosette, Ebony bridge with 2 3/16″ string spread, Dalmation pattern pickguard, Ivoroid heelcap, Zipper backstrip and endstrip, Gurian Ebony endpin and bridge pins. Snuffy Smith did the final low action setup on the guitar and installed the strap button in the center of the neck heel.
