Shooting at the Hall’s

Event Details

Nashville police have reported a shooting at the guest house belonging to Tom T. and Dixie Hall in Franklin, TN last night.  They were not at home at the time, and not involved in the shooting.

This building is on the same property that houses the Hall’s residence and recording studio, and they often allow musicians and songwriters to stay there and work. The police report indicates that an unnamed man and woman were staying at the house, along with a guest, and that during an altercation the woman shot one of the men in the knee.

The guest house is located some distance from the main house.

It is quite common for bluegrass writers to enjoy the Hall’s generosity, but no further details about the identity of the participants has been provided. It isn’t clear whether an arrest has been made in this incident.

Tom T. and Miss Dixie typically attend the Bean Blossom festival which is going on this week in Indianna.

We will update as more details can be determined.

UPDATE 11:50 a.m.:  An update to this story is available.
