San Paolo Bluegrass Club postage stamp

Event Details

Our Brazilian friend Erio Meili, President of the Sao Paulo Bluegrass Music Association sent us this photo of the postage stamp which they had created to help publicize their organization. The Brazilian postal authority, Empresa Brasileira de Correios, is under certain conditions allowing for the production of special stamps such as these, which are valid for all domestic and international postage.

Erio tells us that this stamp, in which he is shown wearing the official T shirt of the Sao Paulo Bluegrass Music Association, has a value equivalent to about $.20 (US), and that he posted the very first one to mail in his IBMA final ballot a few weeks ago.

In addition to promoting bluegrass music in Brazil and South America, they have started to compile an international banjo teachers directory on their web site, which is available in either English or Portuguese.
