Plant-Krauss II in the works

Alison Krauss and Robert PlantNashville radio station WKDF is reporting that former Led Zeppelin vocalist and current Alison Krauss duet partner Robert Plant has rented a home in Nashville and is working on a follow-up with Krauss to their hugely successful Raising Sand CD.

The possibility of a second Plant/Krauss collaboration has generated a great deal of speculation, and is sure to disappoint both Zepp fans hoping for a reunion and AKUS fans longing for a new band project.

From the WKDF web report…

“We’ve got a whole bunch of songs, and we’re just going, ‚ÄòDoes that work and does that work?'” Plant told the United Kingdom’s Absolute Radio. “So we’re trying it out again.”

One possible title being floated right now is ‘A Gated Community’, as “it’s like being in a looney bin,” Plant said. He also added that they were nowhere near a final decision on the title.

No one ever knows for sure until it happens, but listening to interviews from the guys of Union Station, the feeling I get is that an AKUS project is in the works for this year. Alison certainly is capable of working on more than one project at a time. She has done so many times previously in the past.

Shouldn’t really make a difference though. True fans of Alison won’t be disappointed no matter what it is that gets released first.
