Pinecastle Records sold

We have confirmed that the Riggs family has found a buyer for Pinecastle Records, and that the company has been sold. An announcement from the new owners is expected to be made soon.

The company closed up shop in February 2010 when the health of Pinecastle founder Tom Riggs took a serious turn for the worse. They continue to operate another family business, The Music Shed, a retail distributor of bluegrass and acoustic music online.

Many Pinecastle artists have been able to affiliate with other labels, but many others have been left in limbo, a few unable to even obtain product in this interegnum.

Hopefully details about these concerns will be addressed with the forthcoming announcement from the new owners. Stay tuned.
