Chris Burton, a bluegrass musician and songwriter from Roanoke, VA, has released a debut single from his upcoming album. It has a timely theme for this season of the year, featuring a familiar voice and sound.
That’s because while Chris wrote the song and plays banjo on the track, it features the voice of Junior Sisk. Mountain Hallelujah jumps back and forth between 3/4 time and a more common bluegrass 4 beat on this story about a small, country church service on Christmas morning.
Assisting are Ron Stewart on fiddle, Aaron Ramsey on guitar, Adam Steffey on mandolin, Jason Moore on bass, and Ashley Primm on harmony vocals. It was tracked at the Mountain Fever Studio in Riner, VA.
It sounds like an instant bluegrass Christmas classic. It is available for radio programmers now at Airplay Direct, and for download purchase at either CD Baby or iTunes.
Chris’ new record is called Wandering Again, and is expected sometime early in 2015. It’s a songwriter project, and a number of different vocalists are featured.
Let the 2014 Christmas bluegrass season officially begin!
