Michelle Cupit is the subject of a newspaper report, written by fiddle player, actor and former Blue Grass Boy, Randall Franks, and published earlier this week in the LaFayette, Georgia newspaper, Walker County Messenger.
The story focuses on her burgeoning career and some of the influences that have helped to mould her career as a bluegrass artist.
Born in Arkansas but raised in Texas, she comes from a musical family, with her father Emmitt Brinkley, and grandfather Floyd Brinkley both playing a variety of instruments and sharing a love of music with their offspring. Her CD Bluegrass Baby was produced by her husband, one of my longtime friends, the talented Jerry Cupit. Cupit also currently produces Kevin Sharp, Mustang Creek, Jerry Burkhart and Bobby Seals. When listening to the CD or seeing Michelle in person, her emotions shade each performance as if she is telling the listener a personal story.
"What I enjoy most of all is when somebody comes to a show, smiling and having a good time and leaving every-day stuff behind, that’s when I enjoy it the most," she said by telephone from her Nashville area home.
