Henhouse Prowlers head for Europe

Chicago grassers, The Henhouse Prowlers, are about to start a whirlwind tour of Europe. They will play 13 shows over the next 10 days in Belgium, Netherlands and Germany.

Despite this busy schedule, the guys have promised to send along reports and photos from their tour, which begins this evening. They even have a show scheduled in a prison – for prisoners only. Talk about a captive audience!

This (mostly) young group has been working since 2004, but things have really kicked into high gear since they won the Rockygrass band competition in 2010. The Prowlers now work approximately 200 dates each year.

Their 3rd CD, Verses, Chapters, and Rhymes, was released in February. You can hear audio samples on the band’s web site, or in iTunes.

Here’s a look at the guys at the 2011 Chicago Music Awards in January.

We’ll be looking forward to their reports from the Old Country.
