Hear Del live at NEA concert online

Event Details

The National Endowment for the Arts will offer a live webcast of Friday’s (9/24) concert celebrating the 2010 National Heritage Fellowships recipients. This concert is an annual event, but this will mark the first time that it is available via a live video stream online.

The fellowships are awarded each year to artists in a variety of fields to honor a lifetime of contributions to American culture. The honor conveys both prestige, and a cash award of $25,000.

This year’s concert holds special interest for bluegrass fans, as it will include performances from Del McCoury and Jim “Texas Shorty” Chancellor, both of whom are among the 2010 fellows.

The show will begin at 8:00 p.m. (EDT) on Friday evening. Instructions for viewing the webcast will be posted at the National Endowment for the Arts web site on Friday afternoon.
