Harlan Road – new single from NewTown

Event Details

Newtown

Mountain Home Music has released Harlan Road, the title cut and first single from their upcoming NewTown project, due to hit on July 8.

The band is based around the music of the husband/wife team of Jr. and Kati Penn Williams. Both share their vocal talents in the band, Jr. on banjo and Kati on fiddle. Their sound is hard-edged contemporary bluegrass, modern yet still representing the bluegrass traditions of their Kentucky roots.

Joining the Williames are Mitchell Cannon on mandolin, Hayes Griffin on guitar, and Travis Anderson on bass.

Kati and Jr. credit former bandmate CJ Cain for them finding this title track, which combines a gritty, low-down romance with riding on the train.

“CJ Cain introduced us to the music of Tyler Childers, a young singer/songwriter from eastern Kentucky. We started researching his YouTube videos and found Harlan Road and other great songs. It fell together rather quickly in the studio – a great song has a tendency to do that! From the first note, we knew it was going to be a great cut. We’re tickled with how it turned out and hope folks will enjoy listening to it as much as we did recording it.”

Pre-orders for Harlan Road (the album) are available now in iTunes, and with the pre-order you get an instant download of the single.
