Flecktones tour launches today

Event Details

The US tour in support of the upcoming B???la Fleck & The Flecktones CD, The Hidden Land, starts today in the band’s home base of Nashville, TN. The first two shows will be performances with The Nashville Symphony on Friday and Saturday nights (1/13-14), after which the band takes to the road for 34 dates between now and the end of April.

The Flecktones have been absent from the touring ranks for over a year, a time which they had set aside for personal projects, and to record this new CD, their first wholly band-oriented studio release since 2000. During 2004, the last year they were actively on the road, they racked up impressive ticket sales in excess of half a million. Needless to say, their return to the arenas will be welcomed by their many followers and fans.

The Hidden Land is due for release by Sony on February 14, and will be available as either a standard audio CD, or in a dual CD/DVD format with additional media content.

You can find the complete band schedule on The Flecktones web site.

UPDATE: Yesterday’s (1/12) edition of the Nashville paper, The Tennessean, carried an article on The Flecktones’ return to the road, along with some comment from B???la.
