Skyline Records artist Nick Dumas has chosen a Vince Gill song for his latest single, one from a quarter century ago called Feels Like Love, and even got Vince on board to sing with him on the cut.
It makes a snappy bluegrass number, and Dumas says that Gill felt the same way.
“We have always loved this song and when we decided to make a bluegrass cover, Vince was so gracious to provide a harmony vocal. He said he always thought it would make a great bluegrass song.”
Nick and Vince takes turns on the lead vocal, with a super strong studio band behind them. We hear Dumas on mandolin, Daniel Thrailkill on guitar, Calib Smith on banjo, Carley Arrowood on fiddle and harmony vocals, Jeff Partin on reso-guitar, and Andrew Knapp on bass.
They turn Vince’s country classic, with its Bruce Hornsby throwback vibe, into a contemporary bluegrass gem. They even keep the jam out at the end. Well done all.
Have a listen.
