Christmas single from Jett’s Creek

Ohio’s Jett’s Creek is the latest bluegrass act to offer a Christmas single. Theirs is From My Broken Heart to You, a melancholy Christmas song of loss and loneliness. Does that make it the perfect bluegrass Christmas song?

But seriously… The song is a personal one for the band, written by banjo picker Adam McIntosh for his sister, Angie Young, who carries lead vocals for Jett’s Creek. Angie’s husband passed away unexpectedly this Spring, and Adam’s song perfectly captures the sadness of facing the happy holiday season with a heavy heart.

Jett’s Creek also features Adam and Angie’s dad, Jon McIntosh, on guitar along with Wayne Haddix on mandolin, Jeff Byrd on bass, and Greg “Spanky” Moore on fiddle.

From My Broken Heart to You is up for download purchase at ReverbNation, and will be soon at CD Baby and iTunes. It’s available now to radio programmers from Airplay Direct, along with their 2010 CD release, Guilty.
