We had posted several weeks ago about an upcoming Skaggs Family Records project called Celebration Of Life, a two CD set recorded live at the Musicians Against Childhood Cancer festival to benefit the St. Jude Children”s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
The performers list reads like a Who’s Who of contemporary bluegrass, with tracks featuring Rhonda Vincent, BlueRidge, Marty Raybon, Ronnie Bowman, Blue Highway, Randy Kohrs, IIIrd Tyme Out, Seldom Scene, Lonesome River Band, James King, Kenny & Amanda Smith, The Grascals, Larry Cordle, Dan Tyminski, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Bryan Sutton, Alecia Nugent, Don Rigsby and many others.
The project is now available, and audio samples from all 37 tracks can be found on the Skaggs Family web site. They are offering a special price of $16 (shipping included) for a limited time, with 100% of net proceeds from CD sales going to St. Judes. Neither the artists nor the record company are retaining any profits or fees for this project.
