Antifogmatic from Punch Brothers

Today’s the day, all you Punch Brothers fans. Antifogmatic, the second release from Chris Thile and his merry band – the second under this name, at least – is out today on Nonesuch Records.

While their previous effort (Punch) was focused primarily on a single, multi-movement composition of Thile’s (The Blind Leaving The Blind), this new album reflects a true band effort with all 10 tracks written collaboratively within the band.

We’ll have a lot more to say about this fine recording soon on Bluegrass Today, but we did want to point out a couple of online features that Punch fans will want to check out.

Spinner.com is streaming the entire album for a limited time, and NPR has audio of their entire Bonaroo set available as an audio stream. That should hold you for a while.

It’s a fine record, showcasing both the talent and the vision of Punch Brothers, which may be the finest acoustic string band yet assembled based on the bluegrass ensemble.
