Rounder has released another short video tease from the upcoming Alison Krauss & Union Station album, Paper Airplane.
The song is Dimming Of The Day, one of the most stirring and emotive tracks on this fine CD. The entire record is brilliant, but the delightful Ms. Krauss shines particularly on sensitive ballads like this.
Dimming Of The Day was written by Richard Thompson, whose ditty 1952 Vincent Black Lightning was a hit for Del McCoury in 2001. In a curious bit of trivia, pop/rock songbird Bonnie Raitt has also memorably covered Dimming, and Jackson Browne’s My Opening Farewell, the final track on Paper Airplane, as well.
