Epiphone adds Hummingbird Tribute guitar

Event Details

Epiphone Hummingbird Tribute guitar

Gibson’s iconic Hummingbird guitar is receiving an homage from Epiphone, one of the many companies under Gibson control, with a new model called the Hummingbird Tribute.

With the costs of most Gibson guitars running into the thousands, Epiphone essentially functions as the Gibson-authorized manufacturer of Gibson clones, manufactured outside of the US to keep costs down. Many players, both amateur and professional, find these Epiphone models to be accurate reproductions with only a minor diminishment in tone or playability.

In fact, Epiphone makes the only Gibson-authorized banjos in the original Mastertone style in today’s market.

Like the real thing, the Hummingbird Tribute is a square-shouldered dreadnaught guitar, using multi-ply tone words for the back and sides, and a glued-in mahogany neck, a reverse belly bridge, and the familiar Hummingbird pick guard, without the Hummingbird graphics.

It is offered in an Antique Natural, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, or Ebony finish with Gibson’s familiar mustache headstock shape.

The Epiphone Hummingbird Tribute sells for $229.
