IIIrd Tyme Out to sing at Vandy game

Event Details

Put me in coach… I’m ready to sing!

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out have been tapped to sing the National Anthem at the opening game of the SEC football season. The Gamecocks of South Carolina visit Nashville on August 30 to face the Commodores of Vanderbilt University, and Russell and the boys will belt out The Star Bangled Banner just before kickoff.

Before the game, the band will pay a visit to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, where they will perform a 45-minute set for patients and their families.

Russell said that they are all looking forward to this big day.

“We are deeply honored to have been asked to perform our country’s National Anthem for the first SEC game of the season. Most of us are avid sports fans and we’re all looking forward to representing our country by performing our nation’s most important song, and enjoying one of our favorite sports as well.

That said, nothing can compare to the blessing that WE will receive when we visit the Children’s Hospital. Our hope is that we bring smiles and laughter to the children, and their families, who are battling illnesses that we can’t even comprehend.”

The game will be broadcast on ESPN, with a projected start time of 7:00 p.m. (EDT).
