Event Details

Audie Blaylock and RedlineAudie Blaylock and Redline will be making at stop in Washington, DC on Friday morning to perform live on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country.

They’ll be on with Katy Daley at 9:00 a.m. (EDT) to pick and sing. The show can be heard in the DC Metro market at 105.5 FM or HD radio 88.5-2, and worldwide via their online stream.

Katy tells us that their set will be done the old time way.

Katy Daley - photo by Ted Lehmann“This is a first for us. This is NOT an in-studio performance. It’s an In-Control Room performance (maybe out of  control). The studio was booked, but I didn’t want to miss the chance to have them in.

They have played for us several times at IBMA and have always done great, high-energy sets. They’re out at Tom Mindte’s recording studio working on a project for banjo picker Russ Carson, so I called and said I can’t get the studio, but come in if you can and we’ll set up a one-mic in the control room. Or we could just play some CDs. I heard [fiddler] Patrick McAvinue yell, “LET’s PICK!” So the decision was made.

I’ve always said I had the best seat in the house, but this time there’s no room for a chair. It will be an hour of in your face bluegrass for me.”

Don’t forget to get some pictures!
