IBMA Songwriter Showcase applications now open

Event Details

IBMAThe International Bluegrass Music Association is accepting applications through the end of this month for their World of Bluegrass Songwriter Showcase. It is hosted each year during the organization’s annual convention, and will be held on Thursday, September 29 in Raleigh, NC.

Ten songwriters (or songwriting teams) will be selected to perform their song live before the assembled artists, labels, and producers who attend World of Bluegrass.

You don’t need to be an IBMA member to apply or be selected, but you will need to purchase a World of Bluegrass registration in order to attend and perform.

There is no application fee, but applications must be submitted by March 31. An application can be completed and submitted online.

Before starting your application, you should have ready:

  • Name, email, Hi-Res photo, and bio of each songwriter credited on the song
  • One demo recording of the song (mp3 format only)
  • Lyrics for the song (PDF only)

The jury process will begin after the applications close, and the chosen songwriters will be notified. Remember that this showcase is specifically for the opportunity to perform your song live at World of Bluegrass.

Full details can be found on the IBMA web site.
